The Highfield Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Retail is a three-day course and is aimed at those working in the food retail industry who are at or wish to progress to a higher or supervisory level.
The Food Safety Act 1990 and regulations made thereunder place a legal responsibility on food handlers for ensuring that food eaten by customers is safe to eat and does not cause harm to people’s health. Any food industry business has a responsibility to improve public health and meet the requirements of the law, including maintaining good hygiene standards at all times. The responsibility lies with the retailer as much as producers, packers or distributors.
All food businesses must have a HACCP based food safety management system in place that can be regularly monitored and updated as necessary. Our Highfield Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Retail is designed to assist you in achieving those goals.
This course is normally completed in three days, 20 contact hours.
